My animations involve both the changing of camera angles and the moving of objects along a path.  The problem is that the scenes that I create by simply moving the camera angle and hitting the (+) button are picking up new layers when I create scenes along a path further along in my animation.  So when I go back to my earlier scenes I have layers titled "frame 1.....frame 2......frame 3....." clicked on as visible layers to every scene prior to creating the animation along a path.  This is a problem because in order to get the desired result I need to go back to each scene, unclick the new layers, and then update each scene to include only the layers that I want.

There has to be a better way to do this..........because going back to each scene after adding any path animation and unclicking the newly created layers in each and every scene is a MASSIVE waste of time.  Please HELP!!!

When you add a scene you have the option to uncheck "Visible Layers" as one of the properties to save. I'm not sure if this is what you are after though.
Are you creating scenes manually to use in conjunction with scenes created by SU Animate?

Yes I'm creating scenes manually as well as creating scenes using the SU animate "create scenes" function.  The problem is that every time I "create scenes" it adds layers to my animation (eg. frame1, frame2, frame3, etc).  This is fine for the newly created scenes, but it also adds these visible layers to all of my manually created scenes. Any solutions?  I've already tried unclicking the "visible layers" box but the newly created layers still show up when I create scenes using SU animate.

Would it be possible to get a hold of the model so I can look at it? SU Animate was created with the idea to create camera walkthroughs/flybys and to move geometry along a path without having to manually create any paths. I can contact the developer and show your model as an example to see if the issue can be resolved.

I really can't send over the model.  I'm working on a new method of construction, patent pending, that I don't want floating around the Internet.  Basically what I'm trying to accomplish is to have the framing of a building come together piece by piece and zoom in on certain connection points to show more detail.  The only way I've been able to accomplish this thus far is by creating animation along a path and then manually creating scenes to zoom in on the connection points.  As I mentioned before the only problem is that when I create new scenes to move an object along a path, it adds new visible layers to my previously created scenes.

In the meantime, is it possible to export the framing coming together as one piece and the closeup as another piece then stitch them all together?

Do you mean export to quicktime?  If so, I've tried that and the quality is way too low for my purposes.  These are very detailed drawings and the exported animation always turns out blurred.  I usually just send my animations as sketchup files and have recipients view them in the SU viewer.  Is there any way to stitch together animations within SU?

In the past, I have created videos by setting the options to 29.97 frames per second and using the Full Frames (uncompressed) setting for the codec at 800x600. Your videos should be crystal clear. You can then stitch the .avis together in windows movie maker or some other program.

Ok, I'll give that a shot and let you know how it goes.
