Is there any way to animate a section cut? I'd like to have an effect similar to what happens when you go between scenes with section cuts, but using SU Animate. When I create a section cut and change it's position in different keyframes though, nothing happens. Am I missing something?

Section cuts in SketchUp are a visual mirage (in my opinion). The geometry is not really getting cut. Are you able to create SketchUp scenes of of section cuts. I have never been able to. It's the same reason why SU Animate can not create frames of various section cuts, I think.

Hi, Yes, you can create scenes with section cuts. I also think it's a mirage, but if you have a scene with an inactive section in it, and then a scene with the cut active, when you go between the two scenes, it animates the cut. Someone else mentioned using the section tool to get the effect they wanted here: http://suanimate.websitetoolbox.com/post/Have-a-problem-!!-Someone-Help-!!-3652683?highlight=section , but I'm not sure how they did it... Is there anything else you can suggest to get this kind of effect? Cheers

One other thing I'm wondering is whether I could add the section animation after sorting out the rest of it..., ie, set up all the rest of the animation, then create scenes, then insert a scene where I want the section to 'animate'. Will this work? I'm only just starting with SUA, and am not really sure how it works yet, so want to make sure I'm heading down the right route first before doing lots of stuff and realising that I can't do what I want.
