Hi!

i am quite new to SU animate, so please excuse if the answer to my problem is evident...

i want to make an animation in a building where the camera moves along a path and at the same time a door opens (i created a path animation inside the door component, that one has no camera animation, just the object moving along an arc) and export this to SU walk. It all works quite well when i preview the animation i SU through the plugin. My problem is that i cannot export the camera path, i get the following error message: no such file or directory - C:\Data modeller baltiska hallen\test 2 20120213.skp_CameraPath_000.csv   after the animation plays.

What am i doing wrong?

Thanks!

Exporting camera path is only for use with SU Walk.  SU Walk does not support object motion like a door opening.  So maybe that's the problem.  Or it could be a permission problem.  Can you try creating a simple path for a camera animation and then Export it.
The alternative is to make all the scenes and import the SketchUp model into SU Walk and SU Walk will treat each scene as a keyframe.  But again, SU Walk is only a camera animation program.

oh ok. but i tried exporting with a camera path only and it doesn't work either... any idea on how to make that work?

another question: is there a way to export the camera/object path animation to a movie file from sketchUp? or is the only way to export the animation is through making scenes (which means loosing the object animation, right?)?

thanks!

The export camera path file will be saved to the same folder that the model is in.  If it's not saving, I think there's a permission problem on your system.  Such as that folder does not permit saving.  Of perhaps some kind of firewall preventing the save.

Make Scenes will not lose the object animation.  Make Scenes is supposed to be the final step in creating your non-photo-realistic animation.

Once you Make all the Scenes, Export the Animation from SketchUP to make an AVI or MOV file.

You can also save the model with all the scenes and import it to SU Walk.  SU Walk will treat each scene as a keyframe but it will not animate motion of objects.  It will animate the camera movement.

Hi,

I have created my animation using key frame animation. I have the camera move and a door open.  It works fine when I play it in sketchup but when I go to tools-make scene, then the scenes are create.  I then go to file-export-animation and save it.  Once it finishes rendering, I only get the camera path animation not the door opening.

Do you know what I am doing wrong?

Thanks

If I understand this correctly, you are Exporting the SU Animate path and then importing it to SU Walk?
If so, the door animation is a object animation.  In other words where something is moving.  SU Walk can not animate moving objects.  Just the camera movement.
